Participation Requirements
From Gotham: Year One Wiki
First Three Pups
For your first three (3) pups and any temp-sock, you must meet the following requirements:
1. Three (3) significant instances of game play. These may occur in any form: thread, log, one-shot, comms com, open blog post.
2. A journal entry or one-shot of significant depth counts as a significant instance of game play. Significant entries reveal something about the character's emotional state and their involvement in the community and game.
3. When you do submit an application, if your character has not done any journal entries or one-shots in the previous month, include a short "state of the character" summary as part of the application.
Overall, we are looking to see diversity of play, contribution to the game world and development of character.
Failure to meet requirements in any given month prohibits Applications for the following month.
Failure to participate at all for three (3) consecutive months (except in extraordinary cases with advance notice to the mods) will result in the pup(s) being purged from the game.
In other words, if you are not intending to apply for another character, you do not have to "meet requirements", but you still must show a modicum of effort to participate in the game.
Fourth Pup and Beyond
In addition to the three instances of game play, each pup should have interactions with at least three (3) different PCs per month. Threads or logs with more than one character each are acceptable. So that, for example:
PC 1: 2 logs, 2 comm posts; interacted with A, B, C.
PC 2: 1 log, 1 thread, 2 journal posts; interacted with A, D, E, G, H, I.
PC 3: 2 threads, 1 comm post, 1 journal post; interacted with C, F, G, K.
PC 4: 2 logs, 2 journal posts; interacted B, E, G.
There can be overlap between your characters, but each of them needs to have interacted with at least three other PCs.
While there's no actual cap on the number of characters you can play at GYO, when you reach your sixth PC, you must play all six characters for a minimum of three months before apping a seventh. Three months before apping an eighth and so on.
