He ~~currently has several side projects running including identifying the exact mutation that Sue Storm has gone through~~ and ~~trying~~ to ~~debunk~~ the ~~idea that there is an angel in the city named Raguel~~. ~~He can usually be found in the lab~~, ~~ordering everyone else about~~, although he ~~goes outside to try to clear his head when things get too heated inside~~.	+	Life in Gotham is, in many ways, like living in Atlantis for the first year all over again, down to the depressing lack of caffeine and chocolate. At least Atlantis had a decent supply of MREs. But what matters most to him there also matters most here. His friends and colleagues, even the ones he doesn't like, need him, especially now that they've found at least a part of Atlantis again. The Consortium for Rift Research is officially dead, or at least dying, but he still needs to keep his hand in. How can he resist it when a spaceship lands at the airport? Even if he doesn't yet have permission to take it apart yet piece by piece. He's back to having his dozen and one projects, occasionally foisting them off on his self-appointed 'assistant', or in Rodney's mind 'minion', just to see what the kid will do with it. Jack reminds himself a little of himself at that age, fumbling and all, although he knows he wasn't quite that egotistical. And Sam had even forgiven him for hiring him without telling her. At least maybe she had.

But it's definitely not a thing, because he has Sue and never mind that it might mean that Sheppard can have his own science geek that he's actually having sex with. It can't mean that Rodney won't stop being his best friend, right? Right. So instead, he buries himself in work like he always does when there's a problem he wants to avoid.
